Outside of normal Medicare/Medicaid there can be other help available. Google your local Centers for Independent Living. The VA can help veterans. There are funds to help cover part (or all) of the cost from various disability orgs- MS, Parkinsons, CP, SCI, etc. Let me know if I can offer advice.

Rental of a hospital bed can be a $100 a month. Try your local Firehouse. Some have equipment u can borrow. We have local organizations that loan. Medicare may pay like said with a doctors order.
