Guys, we have not checked up my grandma yet. But she already forgets people and words while she is speaking. She is thinking that characters on TV and computer are real. She is talking to them like this TV is ours or going away from TV. She thinks people on TV are looking at her and she eats her food in another room. Now she is obsessed with me, she is following me everywhere and misunderstands my calls for my work. Like I am having calls and she comes, starts talking and thinks I am doing something bad.
I think these are signs for dementia. Can you tell me how you deal with this? It is sad and exhausting :(

Find Care & Housing
Thank you for your answer. Actually, she lives with my family. But I am here due to covid-19 and will go to my home after the virus. I just wanna find ways to help, so my family can deal with it properly. I will check both options. Thank you very much!

flaneuse, yes, these are signs of something -- she may have a urinary tract infection (UTI) which, in the elderly, can have no other symptoms except confusion. You must take her to a doctor to get a test and if she has one she gets antibiotics and it will clear things up both physically and mentally...maybe. She may also have dementia. At the doctor's appointment pls discretely ask them to perform a cognitive exam, so that you know what you're dealing with and that it gets into her medical records. Your profile says you are her grandchild and primary caregiver. Dementia changes a lot of things and you need to be prepared for all of it, and make some decisions. See if you can get her in to the doctor. If she resists, come back to the forum for some very help ideas on how to get her there. Let us know how it goes! Many are and have been in your shoes-- you should not go down this path alone, and you don't have to. Blessings to you for helping her!
