Find Care & Housing
Here in Canada when Covid gets into nursing homes the effect is devastating. As explained in our national news conferences, the majority of the 1300 deaths in Canada are linked to nursing homes and other care facilities. Most the deaths in younger adults are staff who work in hospitals and care facilities.

The spread of nursing home cases in BC is linked in part to staff working at more than one facility. More recently the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry has made it a requirement that employees only work at one facility.

Although I can understand your desire to see your family members, the risks are very high, if there is only one reported case in your community.

Aren't the restrictions mandated by your state? If so then I doubt there will be time spent deciding where there could be exceptions, all of the restrictions are the reason there is little or no cases of the virus in some areas. The threat isn't going to disappear until there is a proven vaccine.

No, but I would imaging they will be the LAST places to open up. They may wait to see if a vaccination is developed, or if exposure testing becomes a reality. My MIL is in LTC so this would not surprise me.
