Your last post said Mom was moving to Fla, did that happen?

In that post I replied that Mom needed to go to Office of Aging and Social Services to see what she was entitled to. Did she do that? A question was asked and u did not answer it.

Medicaid and Medicare plans often provide extras like discounts on supplements (very limited) or gym memberships so it might be good to check your insurer's website or member guidebook. And check out these two websites:

findhelp.org - type in your zip code then select a category (money, care, transit, food, housing, legal, etc) to see what's available locally and nationwide

benefits.gov - search for resources available through federal agencies. There is an option to search by state or agency but it might be helpful to go through the questionnaire which will direct you to resources based on your circumstances

It's usually through each state and can be specific to individual counties. Contact social services for that person's resident county; also try their local Area Agency on Aging. This is a global forum so unless someone on here is from Rex, GA, we can't be more specific.

FYI I think you mean Medicaid, not Medicare. Any "extra subsidies or financial help" will require that they apply and meet whatever criteria is set to receive that help.
