90-yr-old mom lives with hubby and I. She fell ill last year and we had to move to one level home, and I had to quit my job, so that she could move in and be taken care of. She is on 24/7 oxygen and a walker. She pays 1/3 of the expenses and 1/3 of rent. Eventually she will have to go on Medicaid and to a nursing home type situation. I need a legal doc showing she is paying us because of the 5 yr Medicaid look back. I do not have the $$ to pay for a CPA and was hoping to find a doc we could get notarized that would work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Because of her need to go on LTC with Medicaid it is CRUCIAL to get this RIGHT for your own state's Medicaid laws. Time to see and elder law attorney who will l draw this up for you and check on anything other such as wills, POA and so on, give you options and advice on what to think about for the future.
Best of luck. Need for expert advice = need for expert.

There is no document that I am aware of, but generally Medicaid expects that the elder pays her fair share of expenses in the household . There will be no problem if after they view the bank records they see she regularly pays her share. I lived with my father for years and we both paid for various household items, bills and rent. There was no problem.
