NraeKir, yes my Dad had over-night caregivers. The Agency that Dad used, these caregivers only worked nights, thus they were fully rested, as the Agency required that they remain awake throughout the night.

My Dad was a major fall risk, so the caregivers had to keep one ear opened listening for Dad getting up out of bed. The caregivers were able to watch TV or use their laptops to keep busy. Chores were out of the question, as that would wake the client. If Dad got up early, then the caregiver would give him breakfast if he wanted to eat.

The Agency I used charged $30/hour, and it was well worth that piece of mind.

We never needed that but I know some of my mom's caregivers sometimes picked up overnight shifts. Is there something specific you need to know?
