This is for my sister who is bed bound. She needs a physically strong caregiver who is kind, gentle and understanding. Basic needs are meal prep, bed baths when needed and emptying the catheter, making sure she is safe. Grocery shopping as needed and anything else can be discussed. The need is urgent. If you are a CNA, that's a plus! If not, must be willing to learn. A nursing student could be ideal.
Also of concern is that you will be having an employee as considered by the IRS. If you manage to find an acceptable caregiver who will accept such terms, they could easily turn sis or you into the board of labor for unfair labor practices. Agencies that provide live in help in my area charge in the area of 12,000.00 a month. I would think you seriously want to reconsider the room and board approach to payment in exchange for care. Providing care is a 24 hour a day job, 168 hours a week.
