My wife is suffering extreme pain in her hips, legs, & neck, on oxygen, with congestive heart failure, incontinence, and a touch of dementia. She just turned 79 is alert , but sleeps a lot. We're married 45 yrs. been together 48. An avid reader & crossword junkie, she is now having problems seeing. I've looked everywhere, starting with her Hospice nurse ,who said anyone over 75 under their care, there's nothing they can do. Any suggestions?
Call a nursing home near you. See if there is an eye doctor that visits their residents. Doctors don't need all the equipment to help determine what strength glasses are needed. My nephew had glasses at 8 months. When I asked the doctor how they could determine his prescription he said by how the light hits the eye. I think its the back if the eye. Call her eyedoctor and tell him whats going on. Maybe he can give you the strength of reader that may help.
Good luck to you.
