Based on your preferences, we provide you with information about one or more of our contracted senior living providers ("Participating Communities") and provide your Senior Living Care Information to Participating Communities. The Participating Communities may contact you directly regarding their services. APFM does not endorse or recommend any provider. It is your sole responsibility to select the appropriate care for yourself or your loved one. We work with both you and the Participating Communities in your search. We do not permit our Advisors to have an ownership interest in Participating Communities.
II. How We Are Paid. We do not charge you any fee – we are paid by the Participating Communities. Some Participating Communities pay us a percentage of the first month's standard rate for the rent and care services you select. We invoice these fees after the senior moves in.
III. When We Tour. APFM tours certain Participating Communities in Washington (typically more in metropolitan areas than in rural areas.) During the 12 month period prior to December 31, 2017, we toured 86.2% of Participating Communities with capacity for 20 or more residents.
IV. No Obligation or Commitment. You have no obligation to use or to continue to use our services. Because you pay no fee to us, you will never need to ask for a refund.
V. Complaints. Please contact our Family Feedback Line at (866) 584-7340 or ConsumerFeedback@aplaceformom.com to report any complaint. Consumers have many avenues to address a dispute with any referral service company, including the right to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office at: Consumer Protection Division, 800 5th Avenue, Ste. 2000, Seattle, 98104 or 800-551-4636.
VI. No Waiver of Your Rights. You will need to qualify by application. Know that qualifying involves both proving a NEED--that is to say that the recipient needs help with almost all activities of daily living (ADLs) and that the applicant has no funds for their own care.
You should begin, as others have observed with researching online. The Medicaid.Gov sit a good place to start. You should also check out "Qualifying for Medicaid in the state of ___________(insert your state". Do understand that Medicaid is a joint governmental program that is run by both Federal and State governments, making it's qualification process and requirements as well as it's benefits different in every state in the union.

To qualify for Medicaid nursing home care a person has to be medically needy and of low-income status. As JoAnn29 pointed out, you should go down to your county social service office and ask to speak to a Medicaid caseworker. You can also get more information about Medicaid by going to Medicaid.gov.
You go to your County Social Services and ask for a Medicaid caseworker. (May need to set up an appt) That person will give you the information you need to start the process. In my State you have 90 days from date of application to get them information they need and spend down any assets the person has over the asset cap.
I applied for Mom before Covid. She was under the income cap and what Money she had was being used for her Nursing home. Since she only had enough for 2 months of NH care, she had spent down within the 90days. She paid May and June and Medicaid kicked in July 1st. I used the cash in of her life insurance for a prepaid funeral. Her house was an exempt asset until her.
