Find Care & Housing
I would check into board and care homes.

They are a great deal cheaper then large facilities and have better patient /caregiver ratios.

How much is the facility charging? This is a sad thing that happens when people 'outlive' their income and have to move to a cheaper facility.

I'd start shopping around for one that is cheaper, but $2000 isn't even going to scratch the surface of most care facilities. You may need to look into Medicaid for help.

Not super familiar with the financial arrnagements of such places, but I know the cost can be prohibitive. Don't wait until she gets 'kicked out', be proactive and take care now to look into this.

If she's in memory care facility, they won't accept insurance like medicaid...you need to tour skilled nursing facilities nearby...they accept medicaid...which your mother will need to continue getting care. The Social Worker there can help with the application. Hugs

Depending on where you live, there are MC facilities that accept Medicaid.
