My cousin used to have this condition and then it progressed to osteoporosis. I would try to treat it now, before it progresses. I would find a good doctor who can evaluate you for this new medication that actually builds the bone. I read a brochure about it. My cousin was not a good candidate, but if you are, I would explore taking it.

I would also see a neurologist to find the reason for the loss of balance. He can evaluate the causes. In the meantime, I would always use my walker and be careful not to walk on uneven pavement, don't reach up high, don't walk near pets, get rid of throw rugs, and ask for help when you need it. I would do all things to avoid falls, since recovery can be difficult.

Is your eye condition preventing you from seeing clearly? I'd check on that.
