Find Care & Housing
Absolutely, its an awkward situation to say the least.. I cared for a gentleman who was 99 and used to talk about certain things not in a derogatory way but it was very very uncomfortable. And they know that they are not capable of anything sexual but it's something in their brain that keeps on going sexually (gross) and after a certain amount of time actually stopped working for him because of that.

So are you the patient or the caregiver?

As a lifelong RN I can assure you that some do and some do not. This is a simple body-brain connection and has ZERO to do with any desire or intent.

I saw some responses to a similar question when it was asked a while ago. From some of the responses I saw, nurses seem to think a patient's erection is more of an embarrassment to them than the patient. I can assure that an erection in front of a nurse is humiliating to the patient. The patient is far more embarrassed than the nurse is.
