Find Care & Housing
It depends on your situation. My 92 year old dad has plenty of resources and after numerous requests from doctors, caregivers, and APS, I was forced to do it. Both guardianship and conservatorship. The POA thing wasn't working because the banks wouldn't honor it (was taken out back in 2009 and they felt it was too old). I had no control over his situation and I saw him spiraling out of control. The guardianship/conservatorship process was not pleasant AT ALL but has actually made my life easier because I have some say-so in his care.
