Yes. Obsessive behavior is very common in people with dementia. Depending on the meds they are on, they may even feel like something is crawling on them. Telling them not to do it will result in a blank look and then possibly doing it when they’re by themselves or when you’re not looking.

There are medications that can help with obsessive behavior. Speak with the doctor and let them know what’s going on.
