She received paperwork from FamilyCare NJ including her medicaid card and an offering of HMO's. She is presently enrolled in AARP supplement medical and prescription programs. I feel her coverage is very good now. Is she required to enroll in an HMO or can she simply continue with her AARP coverage?

Medicaid pays for her vision, dental, precriptions and Health insurance. So pretty sure you need to pick something. My nephew has Horizon Blue Cross for health and Wellness for prescriptions. He goes to a clinic for his dental and a Medicaid eye doctor. I am a Blue Cross person because they are easy to talk to.

Call Family care of NJ. I have found they, too, are easy to work with. Moms choices should be based on what insurance is used mostly in your area. You must use Drs that except Medicaid. You cannot go out of the State for care.

Do you mean Medicare for medical insurance or Medicaid for low income custodial care? If you mean Medicare, open enrolment is over. If she made no changes, then she is on the same policy. If she just moved to a different state, she can enroll in a different plan. Some policy's are quite different in another location. It is the drug costs that differ. When you are unsure, then see an insurance agent that offers different types of plans. They cost nothing to your mom.
