He is a double transplant patient who is blind in one eye. He is on Indiana Medicaid, and I want to leave him the house we live in when I die. I am 82 years old and just planning ahead. He remains pretty self-sufficient but would need a roof over his head!

Find Care & Housing
I agree, talk to an Elder Lawyer. With health and in home Medicaid, they are allowed a house.

I would consult with an elder law or estate planning attorney for your state. Your house may need to go into a trust. Make sure whoever you consult with has knowledge about Medicaid. There is such a thing as Medicaid Planners and they are specific to each state since the rules can vary.

If he is on Medicaid and lives in a house -- where will he get the funds to pay for the taxes, insurance, transportation, maintenance and repairs?

Maybe he could apply for SS Disability if he has not done so already.
