Find Care & Housing
i would take the lashing out. Mine went to a lawyer with her best face on and he bought into everything she said. She lives with us. I have been written out of the will. All POAs revoked. The state is now involved. What a frickin’ mess. No other relatives. WTH!

I think BrooklynBarb has it right. Do not put up with her abuse, but do consider talking with the Hospice doctor about altering her medication. The combativeness can be very difficult to handle. My mother has dementia and is now in a memory care unit. While I am not an only child, and grateful to have supportive brothers, I am her care giver . When I was young, and into my adult years, she was mentally and emotionally abusive. The dementia brought back some of her worst behaviors. YOU ARE RIGHT for setting firm boundaries. If possible, set the phone to a different ringtone for her, so you'll know whether or not you need to answer it.
Good luck.
