Small estate question.

My dad had only 5000 in his checking account - that is the extent of his "estate". Everything in his will was already given away years ago. I believe I can access the account to pay for his funeral as executor. There won't be anything left. Must I file a small estate form?

Nevermind, I have my answer. I do have to do the small estate. I don't see a way to delete the question.
