Find Care & Housing
She shouldn't have to. You should be there. Time is short. My daughter was in Hospice, the only thing I told family was "Come see her, now or never". My sister called to say she would fly in at the end of the next month. All I could get out was "She won't be here by then".
Creader, understand how hard it is to talk about it. Because if you tell someone else, you have to tell yourself too. Just go there. Be strong.

Aren't you helping with his care? Wouldn't you automatically know what the status is?

I am so sorry. Could it be that she is just overwhelmed?

Unfortunately you do not. It is up to your father to state if he wants you there and your step mother should honor it if those are his wishes. Otherwise, his wife is his legal next of kin with or without a POA.

You are not the first person to post on here regarding a step mother who would not keep her husband's children in the loop.
