Find Care & Housing
There are many different levels of dementia. So without much info to go on I will suggest you contact hospice to evaluate him. If he is qualified for hospice, they will send assistance. If he isn’t, he may be qualified for home health where he can get a bath and a shave a couple of times a week. This is if he has original Medicare and could use skilled nursing to set his pills up, track his vitals etc. if you tell them you do all that, then there is little need for them to come. I’m sure you have plenty to do taking care of him that you can allow them to take that portion over. This way, with a little help, you can manage longer keeping him at home, if that is your objective.
They have to be able to provide a skilled nursing service and if he needs that, then he will qualify for a CNA for baths and Pt or OT as needed. He needs to be homebound as well. In other words, someone who needs help bathing shouldn’t be driving and couldn’t leave home without assistance.
Sometimes as caregivers, we are so accustomed to doing everything we don’t realize until we are burned out that a little help with even seemingly small things can really help.
Even if he doesn’t qualify now, you can learn about the services available for when he does. The HH will need a doctors orders to offer these services but they can assist you on what to ask for. Give one a call and see if it’s helpful.

Is there a Home Health Care agency/provider in your area? They have aides you can hire to help with these type of activities.

I hope that you are getting some other kinds of help as well. So you can get a little time to yourself for some self care. Dementia care giving is very demanding and you can get burnt out very easily.

You can contact your county's social services at the Dept of Health and Human Services and request a needs assessment for some in-home help. And you can also contact your local area's Agency on Aging for more resources. This is a global forum and usually what's available is very local, so you will need to search in your immediate area for help. I highly recommend you join Nextdoor.com as this will connect you to your actual immediate neighbors and you can post this question to that group and you may get some very helpful direction.
