I am 18 years old and my father has stage 4 cancer. He has been told he does not qualify for assistant living for he makes too much money on social security, disability. He is currently on medicare. we are about to be evicted from our home with no place to go. I will be starting school in January and I will not be able to care or him on a daily basis that he requires. we have no family locally to turn to. All family lives in NH or WA. I just don't know where to turn to get my dad the care he needs and peace of mind. he has stage 4 terminal melanoma cancer on his bones. he has had his colon removed in Dec and needs constant care. has not eaten in weeks and currently I have been monitoring his vpn iv. he is on a lot of pain medication but it is very expensive, please help.

Why are you being evicted, especially if his SS and disability are too much for him to qualify for Medicare? Is your home in foreclosure? If it is your home, I can't think of another reason other than health issues why you would be evicted.

I don't know if the American Cancer Society actually helps people in need, but you might contact them for suggestions.

I'm also confused why with Stage IV cancer you would be considered assisted living. Wouldn't a care facility or hospice be more appropriate?

Hospice is covered by Medicare and covers the medicines he needs to be out of pain. Call a local one now for an evaluation.
