A good night's sleep, chocolate, the happiness and satisfaction of sharing on AgingCare forum. Does anyone have some favorite things to think about? Yes, this phrase is from the song in the movie "The sound of Music". My husband and I often resort to using movie lines and song to improve communication. We were the only two in a gathering of people who heard the background music playing. We both had the same (cassette tape/CD). A connection bringing two people together. To this day, we crack up when one uses a simple movie line to make a serious point.
SO, What is one of your favorite movie line, some of your favorite things?
Wanted.
Put them back.
Going back to buy them!
Going all out to buy some shortbread cookies in a tin-I love to keep the tins, and
really enjoy those cookies.
It's tradition!
Whether or not I am worth it! Lol.
4 cups of chopped apples. It’s a moist cake , a lot of cinnamon too . Not a spice cake . I love cinnamon .
All these Christmas cookies sound lovely. I was brought up on Norwegian Christmas cookies which are quite different but also very good.
A friend used to make apple cake and I got the recipe and it’s great. How many apples do you use, way? Her cake was fairly spicy.
I made an almond cake yesterday, but didn’t have enough almond flour so substituted some hazelnut flour and, Wow, . It was a great addition. I will do that again. I may make some shortbread this year.
I'm making a rum cake and either peanut butter blossoms or red and green MnM cookies.
I'd like to make some fudge and some chocolate peanut balls too but doubt if I'll have the time.
My brother would love me to make him some of Mother's pecan puff cookies but my SIL can do that IF she would~
They're easy and SO good!
Must include shortbread, peanut butter balls and magic cookie bars. Mini mincemeat and butter tarts are also welcome.
(looks like I'll have to get busy baking if I want any though)

“Spend so much time on the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.”
Wanting and having are two very different things!
Seems so appropriate for the AC website and all the members dealing with unappreciative, uncooperative and difficult loved ones.
Weak and wounded sinner,
Lost and left to die,
O, raise your head for love is passing by,
Come to Jesus,
Come to Jesus and live.
Now your burden's lifted,
And carried far away,
And precious blood has washed away the stain... so
Sing to Jesus ,
Sing to Jesus and live.
And like a newborn baby,
Don't be afraid to crawl,
And remember when you walk sometimes we fall... so
Fall on Jesus,
Fall on Jesus and live.
Sometimes the way is lonely,
And steep and filled with pain,
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain... then
Cry to Jesus,
Cry to Jesus and live.
O, and when His love spills over,
And music fills the night,
And when you can't contain your joy inside... then
Dance for Jesus,
Dance for Jesus and live.
And with your final heartbeat,
Kiss the world goodbye,
Then go in peace, and laugh on glory's side... and
Fly to Jesus,
Fly to Jesus and live,
You are right, it does help with range of motion and the axes are not heavy. You don't do any hard stuff, it's really range of motion and when you release, not hard throws. I found out the ax won't stick in their ceiling, I released waaaaay to soon and everyone got a good laugh at the mishap. I didn't feel bad as I could see I wasn't the only one that ever did that.
I do recommend it to anyone. Great fun and a good work out.
This sounds like the perfect answer to me getting full range of motion on my left side. CANCEL THE P.T.! OMG that sounds like so much fun.
Would get us in shape to be the Viking Warrior Princess position in the next Viking float in the parade as well!
Last year the guys were playing horse shoes. I asked them if I could try. They are heavy and I could never do it when I was younger. I picked it up, threw it, dead ringer, and walked away, I wasn't going to ruin my record. 😂
Quite frankly I am concentrating on not getting my own foot :-) it is a number of steps to do it right and I am still new enough that I play each one through my head with each throw, then my husband, who is an amazing athlete, tells me what I need to work on to get it right. He is a gifted teacher and has basically taught me every thing from skiing to fishing, I am by nature a total clutz, so any help I can get is appreciated.
I have found being concerned for my own safety is a benefit learning anything that can be dangerous. I pay GOOD attention to instruction :-)
We like that it is indoors and we can do it during the heat of summer. Unlike most other places, summer tends to be all indoors in Tucson. Our outside activities are from 5am to 9am, the latest, makes for long, boring days not being able to be as active as we are during the rest of the year. Retirement is proving a challenge during the heat :-/
Way, the 1st session included a free throw of any other weapon of our choice, did some ninja star throwing that was fun but, not nearly as fun as the ax. Next time we are going to do tactical shovel throwing, that looks really challenging and fun.
I just love activities that help with self defense.
😂, mine is adult coloring, not near as cool, but I'm getting lots of praises on reddit r/adultcoloring page. Actually my last page , I'm like so proud of.
It is sooooo much fun and a great stress reliever.
I am thoroughly hooked, as is my hubby.
Oh my goodness…
I was just typing my name “Bundle of Joy”…
but because I’m so in love with this man, and I think about him all the time, I almost typed “Bundle of Love”!
🙂🙃
Can't believe everything you read.
