A good night's sleep, chocolate, the happiness and satisfaction of sharing on AgingCare forum. Does anyone have some favorite things to think about? Yes, this phrase is from the song in the movie "The sound of Music". My husband and I often resort to using movie lines and song to improve communication. We were the only two in a gathering of people who heard the background music playing. We both had the same (cassette tape/CD). A connection bringing two people together. To this day, we crack up when one uses a simple movie line to make a serious point.
SO, What is one of your favorite movie line, some of your favorite things?

I am enthralled all over again.
Now I want to find the movie version with Ciaran Hinds, again.
The reflected crescents filtered onto the wall.
I have always been captivated by eclipses, whether they are solar or lunar.
The eclipse was amazingly filtered through the tall trees and projected onto the wall of the house next door, lasting only one + 1/2 hour. The morning light dimmed a bit, but was darker at about two neighboring houses.
The visual was in varying degrees, and was seen as many little crescents of light, on the wall, the street, and a fence. Then, gone, it was full sun after that.
It was obviously meant for only me to see, Lol. But my dH is a witness. 🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙
Just me, okay then.
To explain,
The Black Eyed Peas Band who performed
Where is the Love
has red question marks on their video. ❓
I do like the message.
Roberta Flack sang
Where is the Love
1972
A whole different song.
Thinking I might need to explain myself more and more as I age, and leave you younger ones in the rear view mirror. ha ha, lol.
How are we all doing tonight?
I don't usually go for flavoured coffee either but I think the pumpkin spice is a nice treat. Cafe mocha is good too (mmm, chocolate). And a dollop of real maple syrup is wonderful too!
🤔🥴️🥵️🤮🤮🤮
Keep the flavors out of my coffee!
So, I would agree with you, and thanks for the warning, Cwilllie.
I remember last year there were so many pumpkin flavors, pumpkin ads, pumpkin products that I just ignored them all.
I already had a wonderful Costco pumpkin pie-will last me all year.
I enjoy getting a pumpkin spice latte or two this time of year so when I saw that a pumpkin spice coffee creamer (international delight) was on sale for $5.99 I figured I'd give it a try, after all that's what I paid for my last latte.... 😒🤮🤮

As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema, yo'
Whatever happened to the values of humanity?
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality?
Instead of spreading love we're spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive 'til love is found
Now ask yourself
Where is the love?"
I saw Paul Simon at our jazz festival a few years back. He was awesome! It was interesting to see how many generations appreciated his music.
You know, I never ever played lame music for my children. I always wanted them to appreciate quality music. I didn’t play mediocre children’s music for them to listen to.
Song by Simon & Garfunkel
Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
No one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools" said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence"
Statement by the Prime Minister to mark 9/11 and the National Day of Service.
September 11, 2023
Ottawa, Ontario
The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement to mark the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and the National Day of Service:
“Twenty-two years ago today, the world watched in horror as the worst terrorist attack in American history unfolded.
“Today, we remember the almost 3,000 people, including 24 Canadians, whose lives were senselessly taken that day. Our thoughts remain with those who lost loved ones, the thousands who were injured, and all those who continue to live with the trauma of this tragedy.
“Amid the chaos, the bravery of countless heroes shone through. Firefighters, paramedics, police officers, military personnel, and members of the community ran toward the devastation, risking their own lives in the hopes of saving others. Many paid the ultimate price.
“On this National Day of Service, we remember communities like Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, that exemplified the best of our country by taking in stranded passengers and providing them with comfort, hot meals, and a place to sleep.
“After 22 years, we haven’t forgotten those who were lost on 9/11 – and we will never forget. On behalf of the Government of Canada, I invite all Canadians to honour the selflessness of the many people who provided help when it was needed most, as we remember those who lost their lives that day.”

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.
