Based on your preferences, we provide you with information about one or more of our contracted senior living providers ("Participating Communities") and provide your Senior Living Care Information to Participating Communities. The Participating Communities may contact you directly regarding their services. APFM does not endorse or recommend any provider. It is your sole responsibility to select the appropriate care for yourself or your loved one. We work with both you and the Participating Communities in your search. We do not permit our Advisors to have an ownership interest in Participating Communities.
II. How We Are Paid. We do not charge you any fee – we are paid by the Participating Communities. Some Participating Communities pay us a percentage of the first month's standard rate for the rent and care services you select. We invoice these fees after the senior moves in.
III. When We Tour. APFM tours certain Participating Communities in Washington (typically more in metropolitan areas than in rural areas.) During the 12 month period prior to December 31, 2017, we toured 86.2% of Participating Communities with capacity for 20 or more residents.
IV. No Obligation or Commitment. You have no obligation to use or to continue to use our services. Because you pay no fee to us, you will never need to ask for a refund.
V. Complaints. Please contact our Family Feedback Line at (866) 584-7340 or ConsumerFeedback@aplaceformom.com to report any complaint. Consumers have many avenues to address a dispute with any referral service company, including the right to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office at: Consumer Protection Division, 800 5th Avenue, Ste. 2000, Seattle, 98104 or 800-551-4636.
VI. No Waiver of Your Rights. You know those things that say breathable often means that they are made of polyester. While they often say waterproof they often are NOT. I found that out with a dust mite cover that called itself waterproof and wasn't when my old dog went incontinent on me in her last days. I am hearing it more as I ask questions. Sellers tell me "Well, it is more water-resistant. And they are in that if you get a spill quick you are safe as liquids tend to puddle on it, but if you don't it soaks in eventually. So for both BREATHABLE and water-resistant I would question and then read the fine print.
Take a look on Amazon for your choices. You will see more than a few choices if you type in "waterproof duvet". While some wish not to shop at amazon, it will give you the manufacturers name and you can check things out. Good luck. I see them averaging about 50.00 there.
You can find breathable, waterproof duvet covers at various online and physical retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Wayfair. Also, local stores that focus on bedding may carry high quality waterproof options that you can see and feel in person.

Incontence underwear. incontinence pad on the bed. Regular sheets & cotton weave blankets? Not too pricey & easy to wash. Bit of a 'hospital' look but add a cheery patterned cotton rich duvet cover loosly laying on the top (not all that fiddly with putting a duvet cover on). Just ideas.
Unfortunately most of the "waterproof" products, sheets, blankets, duvet covers are going to be made with a fabric that will make you sweat. What I did find that was somewhat of a solution was to make sure that there was an absorbent pad under my Husband. Then I used the Polar Fleece blankets. They do not absorb a lot and they wash fast and dry fast. You might have to resort to getting a Hospital bed for him and that way it would be easier for you to wash the Twin XL sheets. Yes you will have another bed in your bedroom. If the bedroom is not large enough to accommodate the extra think about moving his bed to another room OR get a Split King (if you have a King bed now.) This will allow you to only have to wash one set of sheets when needed. I will tell you that later on the Hospital bed will be a blessing when you have to get him in and out, you can raise and lower the bed so it is easier to get in and out of. You can raise the head and lower the foot and visa versa when you have to reposition him.
We tried the duvet cover and, waterproof or not, it still has to be washed quite often which means all that taking off and putting on. Plus, if you do happen to get urine odor on the filler it’s a pain to wash.
Waterproof mattress cover, cotton sheet, absorbent pad if required for overflow, incontinence underwear, and don’t judge me here, an oversized doggie couch cover. (Ooh, I can see your faces!) Really, it’s quite nice looking, fleece on one side, sueded on the other with a water resistant layer in between. Some are quilted. There’s enough loft to keep it from being sweaty and since it’s over the top it rarely gets puddled.
A writer talked about a hospital bed. Alternate might be like we have which are individually adjustable beds which are actually two twin beds side by side. I added twin plastic covers as original breathable fabric failed, padded covers that are sold as waterproof and then we use regular king size bedding.
Waterproof items for bedding are not breathable. Unfortunately. Is he okay with using Depebds incontinence adult briefs for men? If those leak too much or he is bedbound, there is Attends incontinence diapers for men. Using this with a large extra absorbent bedpad should work through the night.
Fleece blankets wash and dry quickly . They make nice print or solid ones . How about just using a couple of those ? I would never wrestle with a Duvet cover . Not my thing to begin with .
