I live in WI and take care of my Mom. Her senior care team from the state is telling me since I am activated POA for her Health that getting into assisted living will be very difficult.
Anyone ever hear this before or is this their way of not wanting to pay for my Mother out of their budget in some way? She is on Medicaid and broke. I keep hearing different things.

Find Care & Housing
A healthcare POA doesn't make you in any way financially responsible and it doesn't mean you now have to be her personal caregiver, it means you are her substitute decision maker if she is unable to speak for herself, period!!

It may be that Medicaid doesn't pay for assists living if the person has someone in their lives who could help them out. It's hard for me to believe they would lie to you.

Did you ask THEM why? I sure would have. What did they say?

Okay, quickly looked it up. There is no federal requirement for states to pay for assisted living...just nursing homes. According to what I read, most states do not pay for assisted living.

Are you saying that getting her ADMITTED to AL will be difficult , or getting it paid for by Medicaid will be hard? I think you need to clarify.
