MIL just moved into a beautiful brand new MC facility. It is so new it only has 3 residents (2 residents for 2 months and a new resident just joined). The MC has a memory care director who is absolutely wonderful. She is contact with us daily, cares about her residents and is trying her hardest to advocate for her residents. We requested a meeting to discuss MIL's care plan...what kind of questions would we ask? Would her care plan be like shower M-W-F, do they keep track of what she eats and drinks? How many times she has pulled out her Foley catheter? I guess what I am asking is what is in a care plan? If those things are not in a care plan then I will have to find out the right person to address these questions with.

I was surprised when my Husband was in Rehab that the State requirement for Showering or Bathing was 2 times a week. (obviously more if needed)
You might want to look at your State Code and see what the requirements are.
And with 3 residents if they do showers 3 times a week now once they have a full resident capacity they may have to reduce showers to 2 times a week.
(I am surprised if your mom has a catheter that she was accepted in MC. Often they will not accept a resident that has catheters, feeding tubes and the like as MC residents are more apt to try to remove "things" that are stuck in them. And staff are often not trained to care for things like that so Skilled Nursing becomes the only choice.)
