ANyone have advice on this:Dad is in assisted living, but we do want to have a lockable door if possible, to his room (although not absolutely essential I suppose ). His hands are now too weak to open a standard door with handle and a key hole in center . He does not have the strengh to turn the key in its mechanism. Any advice?A combination lock first came to mind, but I'm not sure he can remember a combination even if very simple!
There are coded locks which can be programmed with something like his birthday or 1-2-3-4.
Magnetic key cards might be an option.
Those "lever handles" are great. We have one on the door going in from the garage into the house. So easy to open when one has an arm load of groceries, you can use your elbow :)
