My husband just got diagnosed two days ago (with Parkinson's ). Two years ago he had just a slight shake/tremor in one hand. Now he has a very significant constant tremor in that whole arm plus tremor in his leg and on his face. Can we expect a similar progression at the same rate?

Thanks! We do have a great PD clinic here. In one of those "wouldn't you know" moments I decided not to go to the neurology appointment with him. We figured the Dr. would just see him to determine some tests and then I'd go with him to those. After all, his previous doctor told us it definitely wasn't PD. So off he went to the neurologist and the guy told him it was definitely PD. So my husband was there alone, dealing with that and he sort of shut down so doesn't remember much of what the doctor or social worker said to him. I've got a call in to them so I can get some of my questions and our questions answered but they haven't gotten back to me. Therefore I appreciate your comments. I'm not looking for medical advice, just maybe y'all's experiences. Have a good weekend! 🌈

Not necessarily. If you live anywhere near a clinic that specializes in Parkinson's, or has several specialists in that disease, take advantage of that! There are new discoveries and treatments all the time, thanks in part to the Michael J Fox Foundation, and you want people who are are up on the latest developments.

Get him on the right meds and have him see a good Neurologist with Parkinson's experience. Early treatment buys time.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's condition Librarian2006. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with PD. I read about it here on this site though. I hope that others who know a lot about it will chime in and let you know what their experiences have been.
