I called aps and reported neglect and financial exploitation on the person caring for ny aunt for last 10 years. My aunt and my dad had been talking and dad wanted me to drive him to her csyse she felt like things weren't right with her financial situation so we drove there 7 hours later when we got thete it was horrible the way she was living. I had no choice but to call. After taking my aunt to her Dr and many trips later and trying to bring her back with us to care for her APS went in took her out of her home placed her in nursing home knowing we wanted her with us then filed ecoitation on me when in fact the person caring for her had taken over a million dollars, and my aunt gave us money to go back and forth until we got her out of there 750.00 and we paid it back. I got a letter it said to fill it out if I wanted to present my case before a review board and show my evidence as to why she gave us a check after I took her to dr and after testing found she has dementia. Like we made her write the check and that was not true. I went down there with good intentions. Then get a another letter saying the review panel found me guilty of financial uak exploitation without me being at the review. What ca.n I do to fight this??

Did you fill it out and did you go before the review board. If you filled out the form and mail it back? If so, did you get a review date? If not, then I would question that. You could not be atva review date you knew nothing about. There must be an appeal process. You have been wrongly charged. Really, your the one who called APS. Problem is your going to need a lawyer from that State.

While it certainly is too late now to say this, you should have had an attorney in this.
Now the case is apparently decided against you and you were not even notified of the court proceedings? That is difficult to believe, so I am thinking that there is a lot of information here that we are not getting.

It does sound as though you were the one to call APS in. It sounds as though the state took guardianship if she was placed in care. It cannot be done otherwise. It sounds as though somehow money got transferred to you for this trip you made to Aunt.

While it may be now to late, as the train of justice left the station long ago, you do need to contact an attorney. How you got accused and convicted of felony theft and elder abuse without your being in the court and represented, as I said, doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. But as I am not a Judge it doesn't have to.

You need not a forum full of varying opinions of a case we don't know the details of; you need an attorney, and it sounds like a criminal attorney for an appeal. This is going to likely cost a lot more than 750.00.

I am sorry for your travail but I cannot imagine, honestly, how this did happen w ithout your being allowed your day in court with representation.
