My 89 year old dad has been very careful and saved all his life but now is faced with huge care bills as he is at home and needs 2 carers 4 times a day. He has just had his first bill which is for 6 weeks and is devastated how big it is. I am presently looking into the CHC but it is an absolute shambles and it will be such a fight, I am waiting for the declined report to arrive so i can understand their decision. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to how we could reduce the amount or if there are any other ways we could approach this. Many thanks.

Find Care & Housing
First we need to know where you are from. CHC is not familiar to me. When I looked it up you could be from the UK or Connecticut.

If from the UK we do have a few Brits here. Country Mouse is one and her job is caring for people. She would be the more likely one to help you. Its 12pm EST here so I guess dinnertime for you. She will pop up.

If in the US for low income people with no assets you have Medicaid. It differs from each State. They provide healthcare insurance and aides.

So, we really need more info.

Is your dad a Veteran? If so the VA has some programs that might help
Contact your local Veterans Assistance Commission the service is free. They will need as much info as you have if you have discharge papers that would be a great start.
Your Local Area Agency on Aging might also be of help.
I am curious why he needs 2 people 4 times a day?
