A lot of parents don’t want to listen to their adult children .

If Dad has dementia this won’t change much if at all . I see you have here , he’s incontinent . If that is part of the issue and he won’t listen to you at home , then it may be time to place Dad in a facility . Incontinence plus being uncooperative is often the game over for at home care .

Parents don't listen to us because we are just their kids, and what do we know?

Then stop giving him advice. Let him come to you when he needs help.

Yup. That's a dad for you, for sure!
What advice are you giving Dad that you wish he could hear from you?

Would you like to expand on this statement.
Would you like to provide any information that would give context to this?

Parents will not listen to advise. My daddy had a will of his own and unless I was right there to do it for him or talk him through it, the job did not get done or the words I said fell on deaf ears. I finally had to take him to a facility and I told him that until he could do A, B, C and the doctor released him from the "hospital" he had to stay. He never got better because that is just how it happens.

You don't give us anything to go on here. What advise would you like your father to listen to?
