I have 3 younger brothers and I have cared for her for over 7 yrs (no help from or calls from any of them). My mom wants to make it easier on me, I know her wishes but we want to have a 'legal' document to back it up. I bought a couple of packets from Staples for POA paperwork and want to be sure I have all the bases covered. She lives with me (I care for her 24/7), has a long list of medical issues, she doesn't have any property, and the only money she gets is her social security and has no savings. Looking for some help from the pros in this group. Thanks in advance for everyone's help.
Seems what Alva did was more than you need to do. If Mom doesn't own a home and her income is just her SS and maybe a pension, all you will need is a POA for financial and Medical. You can call around for pricing. Since you are on her bank account, check with the bank to see if Mom passes do you automatically get the money left. It all depends how it was set up. If Mom wants u to get that money, just make sure its worded correctly.
