My elderly uncle does not have a will. Is there a service available to help him with this or should he contact a lawyer?

My suggestion would be to contact an "Elder Law Attorney" who specializes and is up-to-date in elder law issues.

There are some so-called estate planning companies/services. My thankfully limited experience with them is that they're shysters.

One had a sales rep going trailer to trailer in an RV park in Texas, soliciting vacationing elders. They were real scumbags.

The only reliable way of getting a will prepared is through a qualified, experienced attorney in the estate planning or elder law practice area.

I agree. Consult with a qualified attorney who regularly handles estate planning, senior issues, etc. Beware of do it yourself wills or handling it yourself. There are too many things that can be overlooked or mistaken. It's well worth the investment to have it done properly.
