I just heard a presentation. there was a small study done at a facility in Northwest Illinois (think it was the Rockford area)
they used CBD in liquid form or other oral (I do not think it was gummies as many people with dementia have problems with chewing gummy foods)
The outcome was positive. If I can find the information on who presented the seminar I will add it

Personal opinion .
If It works use them.

There was a word of caution though.
Do not go to a dispensary and get all types of products you want to try one and see if it works before you buy all types.

OK,,
I tracked down the info.
The presenter was Luba Andrus
She is a Registered Pharmacist and she has a Masters of Jurisprudence in Health Law.
The title of the seminar was
Benefits of CBD and Cannabis for Alzheimer's and Dementia Care.

She mentioned that there are 2 bases for CBD products.
Indica Base has a relaxing effect and can help you sleep
Sativa Base has primarily an energizing effect

So when you go to a dispensary keep the 2 bases in mind and communicate what you want the product for.
Also a BIG addition to this talk to your husbands doctor and make sure that he/she is aware that this is something you would like to try. They may even give you some suggestions if they are aware of current research.
Also...this is not covered by insurance so purchase wisely. Do not walk out with products you do not need.

It is hard to find peer reviewed studies with a .government suffix. There are opinion pieces from .org sites. You do not indicate what is the purpose. Gummies are just the delivery method and you have to be made aware, that CBD is not regulated and not always pure. There are also side effects that older people are more sensitive.

Keep in mind that approved drugs go through rigorous evaluation with hundreds of people before released. Otherwise we are hust experimenting on ourselves

It's ironic that so many people distrust "big pharma" yet are more than willing to shell out money on "natural" remedies that are far less regulated or scrutinized

An older lady I know swore by them. You can convince yourself something works and who knows, maybe it does. Yes, people do need medication but many times it's mind over matter. After ovarian cancer treatment left my mom w/neuropathy, she was given 7.5 mg Vicoden TID. A year later it wasn't helping so he gave her 10mg Percocet QID& she took that for 9 years. She also took Clonopin 1mg @bedtime. My mother was a whiney butt and convinced herself she needed these meds. Well, she's not taken either one since March 2022.
