I have only been a 'member' now for less than a couple of hours and have taken the opportunity to screen the Resources pages. If you havent tried to find an answer to any problem related to us old folks with problems i would heartily suggest you take a few minutes to find your specific problem and read what this staff has written. They dont have all the answers but they certainly can lead you in the right direction. As an admin person i am definitely impressed.

Great message AlvaDeer, what i have seen of your insight from your past and current position is what we are looking for. I will never downgrade the nursing profession and no matter your age you will always be a help to someone.

Not so much staff here as just a bunch of caregivers learning "the hard way", PandaKing. I came here more than five years ago I think now. Certainly before Covid. My brother had just been diagnosed with Lewy's Dementia, and he and I were REELING in disbelief, in shock. He made me his POA and the Trustee of his trust because he knew he soon couldn't not safely be in charge of his money. And me? I knew nothing of any of that. I learned the hard way and I came here knowing absolutely nothing. What I felt here was the support of so many trying to gather together. It wasn't always "the answer". It was more, the support. That I knew there were others feeling as absolutely clueless and lost as I was. I am so thankful for this Forum. I was an RN for my entire career and I loved it. I felt so useful. Retired now more than TWO DECADES, and I wonder, where do I fit in at all now. Who needs me and for what. You can in your 80s feel a bit of a drag on society at large. No matter I put in years of Social Security payments I have LONG SINCE used that up and more. If any help I give here can help any single person, well, it's about all I have left to give. So I truly thank this forum for making me once in a while feel "of use". (Tho for the most part feel simple the nag I have always been!).
