She lives with my husband and me but believes that my husband tried to have her evaluated and pronounced crazy to move her to a nursing home. This did not happen! This has been going on for over a week. She comes and goes, in her mind, but she seems to be gone more. Nothing I say helps, I don't know what to do. Her doc did prescibed anxiety medication, hope it will calm her nerves. She is also afraid that people are going to come and drag her away in the middle of night. So she says she's afraid to go to sleep. Has anyone else gone through something like this?

If this is a sudden change she needs evaluation for UTI as soon as possible.
And of course evaluation is something she should be having at this point.

Yes this is normal. My grandmother always family believed that somebody was going to drag her out of her home and force her to live on the streets. She cycled through this belief weekly.

Delusions and paranoia are very common with those suffering from dementia/Alzheimer's. You and your husband should not take any of it personal, as you mom's brain is now broken, and she can't help what she's saying or doing. I know that that is easier said than done, but you must if you want to try and maintain some kind of peace in your home. Educating yourself about the disease can be so helpful when dealing with a loved one, as it will give you a better understanding of exactly what they're going through, and how to best respond.

You may want to also her checked out for a UTI, as you said this has come on in the last week or so. I wish you the best as you care for your mom.
