In my state, there's a full property tax exemption for vets who have been evaluated by the VA as 100% disabled, but you have to apply. I applied for that exemption a couple of months ago when my retired military husband reached 100% disability. Woo hoo! The exemption was granted for the total appraised value of our home. After he passes, that exemption extends to me as his widow. There are also lesser degrees of disability and partial exemptions for those.
If you are the spouse of retired military, check into this in your state and county. I found the information and forms to apply for exemption on my county property appraiser's website.

Just researched, NJ has the Vet disability thing too. Must be 100% disabled.

Nevada, Arizona and Utah all have homestead acts for seniors and disabled veterans exemptions.

Last time I checked in AZ was a deferral type system, that just seemed to arbitrary for my taste. Who wants a huge tax bill when you sell your house?

My Aunt pays 2.00 annually for her property taxes in NV, my uncle died from war related exposures to chemicals. She is well taken care of by our system.

I am in NJ and all vets get a small deduction. Have never heard of getting no taxes based on Vet being disabled. I would think that is a service related injury? Something to look into if a Vet.

NJ has the homestead, senior freeze and a new one that is suppose to give us more money. We will see.

It's property taxes on our home. My DH was recently deemed 100% disabled from service and combat injuries by the VA. It's that evaluation that the county and state used to determine that he's eligible for the disabled vet exemption, which will replace our current homestead exemption.

There is also a senior Homestead Tax reduction for folks over 65 who have lived in their home for 10 yrs or more in Colo. The first $200k of property valuation is exempt.
