My grandparent is not able to navigate a phone and doesn’t have one. Is there a device that is like the photo frames but instead I can send an audio message daily. Something to keep by her bed and she push a simple button to listen. This is meant to be a fun extra item other than a phone call. Especially bc we are different time zones.

With the Echo Show, you can just drop in. Grandma doesn’t have to do anything.

My neighbor’s daughter drops in for coffee every day.

Kk1012, welcome to the forum. As us baby boomers are aging, what is so easy for the younger generation to use, may not be so simple for us to use. Hopefully your grandparent has a landline to use in case there is an emergency.. Plus so many devices need recharging, and would the elder remember to do that. I rarely use my cellphone so eventually it will go into a coma until I remember to jump start it.

Before all this complex technology, I use to mail greeting cards to my grandparents, aunts and uncle which they said they really enjoyed. I know mailing cards is now a lost art that I wish would come back into being. That way the card can sit there and be picked up, and read and re-read during the day :)

I'm not an expert , but consider amazon echo or similar devices. For sure you can "call in " on it to her/him, and listen in. I'm not sure that there is a button per se on the granparents side. But if they can be taught to say " hey Alexa, call my son/daugther", that can be enough to wake up the device to alert you

There might be some specific devices just for seniors, I'm not sure about that.
