My passed away and supposedly made a will which I haven't seen I'm her only son she made it back in 2000 her house was left to her by her boyfriend who just passed away last year in her wheel I was told that it was left to her boyfriend's grandkids the state the house they did not say nothing about the car or my mother's checking account am I entitled to the other things that's not listed in the wheel since I'm her only son or can I contest the will since I believe she was more or less forced into doing that back in 2000 like I said I'm her only son I would love some an opinion or some answers thank you very much
You need to see how her boyfriends Will reads. He May have had it written that Mom could stay in the house upon his death, paying taxes and bills until her death at which time the house reverted to his grandkids. Its called a Life Estate. In other words, the house was never hers.
Are you not in the Will at all. She did not say "My estate is left to my son". Her car and bank acct are her estate.
You may need to consult with a lawyer.
That's a lot of money. And that will was made long ago and apparently not changed.
A will is filed in your county open records (for probate). You can go to County Records and ask to see the will.
It may also be open records to look at the deed to the home.
When did your mother die? Who actually has her will -- who is the person who told you what is in it? Did it go to probate already?
