Frankston area Care home where DH was for respite clearly not interested in taking him on permanent basis. Say he is big and strong and would not be able to control him if he decided to try and walk out. DH has NDIS support for care until 65. How do I go about finding the right place for him or anyone out there already found one. Thanks

Do you have a Care Co-ordinator as part of NDIS plan? If yes, you can put pressure on to provide a short list for you to visit/choose from. But very hard if you are doing the co-ordinating yourself.

Is a social worker funded in plan? If not, can it be?

I'm thinking how to get a professional to help you. Otherwise I imagine it's just you phoning every place with a Memory Unit & then visiting. Endless work & frustration (as I found looking for respite for my 47yr old sister w disabilities/mental illness).

Would Peninsula Health have a Social Worker service available to you? I found this clinic: (looks more like assesments though?)
