In reality, I am creating a nursing home in Senegal and any help will be appreciated. People living with disabilities and elderly people are suffering due to lack of nursing home facilities and equipments. I hope to be able to help create a structure there to help people in need. Thank you.

Contact Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) they are the best. I truly believe in work they are doing.
There is also organization I believe called Missionary to Africa.
I am not sure if those deal with medical equipment but perhaps know of organizations who do.
Maybe contact people from Senegal who live in North America.
There is org in Montreal called Fondation Senegal Sante Mobile which helps Africa with medical equipment.

What kind of equipment?

1) Find organizations that already exist that have this same goal within Africa and partner with them, or intern with them so that you can learn what it takes.

2) Learn how to find and write grants for the equipment and shipping.

3) Think outside the box: maybe explore partnering with orphanages or group homes, which may share similar needs.

Find an existing business model so that you aren't rolling a boulder uphill or reinventing the wheel.

Will the local elders trust a nursing home when care traditionally comes from within families?

As others have correctly pointed out, the shipping costs will shock you. Even crossing borders in just Africa will prove daunting.

It may be more fruitful for you to develop and lead an awareness campaign first. People need to have a reason to care. Maybe develop the support of local church or faith-based organizations.

It's a worthy endeavor, but there are tons of things to work out first before you create even 1 facility.

Wishing you all the best!

We had a women come to our loan closet. We agreed to give her walkers and commodes she wanted to ship overseas. It was months before she came back and when she did she told us they were having problems getting the equipment to the people who needed it because of their Countries redtape. They were getting walkers in because they would find people flying to a certain country and they would take a walker with them.

I am sure there is enough used durable equipment in the States to help people in your country but your going to need to get permission from your government to bring it in.

Costs, costs of shipping, rules and regulations, all something you would have to research thoroughly.
I really cannot imagine. I agree with other responses that buying HERE and shipping THERE is cost prohibitive in the extreme, so I would get things up and running there and then buy equipment there as well.

Your motives are great, however have you considered the costs of shipping nursing home equipment overseas? This reads like you’re considering sourcing it from places outside of Africa and I’d think the shipping expense would be prohibitive
