I live in an apartment in Elko, NV with my 2 dogs. I just need some house cleaning done 1 a week. I have osteoporosis and on oxygen.

Please contact your local Area Agency on Aging for resources;

Contact social services for your county and request an in-home assessment for free services (one of which is light housekeeping);

Contact local churches and ask if they have or know of any Elder Care ministries;

Join Nextdoor.com (which is an intranet of actual, non-anonymous people in your community) and request free help -- but please be smart about who you let into your home, and make sure any and all sensitive paperwork and valuables are secured in an area of your home where no one can access it (or any prescription pain meds you may have for legitimate use).

I’m going to give some practical advice here as a former spca employee. Consider rehoming your dogs. How do you walk them for an hour being that you have osteoporosis and are on oxygen? How bout when they get into it with some other dog or your resident wildlife at any dog park? What about their grooming? Or are they just sitting there until u can take them out to eliminate waste and that’s it for outdoor exercise? You’d be expected to thus have a messier house. This may be worth it to you to keep the dogs. It’s kind of an either or. Pick one.

Many elderly assume there’s some plentiful plethora of working class people ever eager to come over for free to do chores or home and yard work just because of their age or some infirmity. There aren’t. The working class get paid too little as it is.

If you can keep up with walking your dogs, picking up after them, taking them to the vet and groomers, feeding them, etc. you should be able to clean your own space.

I am uncertain what Medicare would offer you. Many programs involving Medicaid have some benefits but it is a bit more rare with Medicare. I would delve into your 2025 Medicare manual that is mailed to each citizen.
Also go online to the Medicare site and do some searching for household help.
From what I can find online initially it doesn't look hopeful. Says that Medicare doesn't have programs that offer housekeeping support EVEN FOR THOSE WITH SOME MEDICAL issues.
I wish you good luck.
