What are the appts for? I found my Mom was going to her PCP every 2 months. She was on meds for Cholesterol and Bloodpressure and was healthy. I stopped taking her. Law requires every six months to have meds refilled. The PCP was milking Medicare.

You may have to use a lie, whatever works, to get him to medical appointments that are in his best interests to attend. Communicate with his doctor about what appointments are essential and how they can help with seeing him quickly after arrival. And yes to medication to calm unwanted behaviors

This is called ISB (Inappropriate Sexual Behavior) or hypersexuality.

"Antidepressants have been used to treat patients with ISB owing to their effects on libido and treatment of paraphilias.7 Furthermore, they can be leveraged for dual indications such as irritability, depression, or apathy, which are common symptoms of dementia."

Yes, this is quite common with dementia. They lose “executive function” and the sense of what is appropriate or not appropriate to say and just blurt anything out. They also can lose empathy or the ability to understand that other people have feelings too.

It can progress to other unwanted sexual behaviors. Sorry you and your mom are having to deal with this.
